Known for their “glorious sonorities ... impeccable ardor” (Washington Post) the Ensō Quartet has consistently received high praise for performances ever since winning the Concert Artists Guild (2003), Banff International String Quartet (2004), and Fischoff National Chamber Music competitions. Formed in 1999 at Yale University, their debut recording was described by Strad Magazine as “an auspicious start to their recording career,” and was followed by the recent Grammy-nominated release of the quartets of Ginastera.
